A life dream…

It is an old tradition of sailors in the south pacific that one who had sailed around Cape Horn had proven himself and earned certain rights.

Among them a gold hoop on the left ear, which would have faced land during the eastward passage. 

& the right to bear a tattoo of a ship in full rigging and sail. 

Someday I will earn that tattoo.
